The Cascades trailed 20-16 after the first quarter, but behind Ben Baker’s 12 points, the Huskies grew their lead to go ahead 45-31 at the half. The Huskies took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Cascades 29-15 to lead 74-46 going into the final frame.
Jasper Moedt led the Cascades for the second consecutive night with 17 points. Kadeem Willis scored 13 points to go along with five rebounds. Ben Baker finished the night with 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Huskies. Stephon Lamar also chipped in with 20 points.
“I thought we competed hard, but that third quarter was really the difference tonight,” noted Cascades head coach Adam Friesen. “The Huskies bring a very balanced attack, and they showed that tonight. But we’ll regroup and refocus and get ready for UBC next weekend.”
The Cascades host UBC next weekend while the Huskies host the Manitoba Bisons.
